KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — Maryville and Truman State University played to a 2-2 draw in men's soccer Sunday at Bulldog Pitch in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match.
Petter Hanssen, of Maryville, scored at 2:12 on an assist from Alex Smeins, of Maryville. Brady Lombardo, of Truman State, answered at 9:28 on an assist from Zachary Painter, of Truman State.
Jacob Panagos, of Truman State, put Truman State ahead at 75:57 on an assist from Slayton Spencer, of Truman State. Julian Stoecker, of Maryville, tied it at 87:10 on a penalty kick.
Maryville outshot Truman State 22-8 and put nine shots on goal to four. Asgrimur Vidisson, of Maryville, played all 90 minutes and made two saves. Owen Robben, of Truman State, played 87:11 and made five saves. Stuart Whitmer, of Truman State, played 2:49 and made one save. Maryville had five corner kicks to Truman State's four.
Hanssen, of Maryville, took four shots. Jan Fulnek, of Maryville, and Axton Anom, of Maryville, each took three. Stoecker, of Maryville, Omar Cllic, of Maryville, Yayo Mutombo, of Maryville, and Lukas Molander, of Maryville, each took two. Roman Scognamillo, of Truman State, and Nolan Schulte, of Truman State, each took two shots. Lombardo, of Truman State, Panagos, of Truman State, Cody Bland, of Truman State, and Drake Thompson, of Truman State, each took one.
