Daniel Kuntz of Macon County R-I FFA won the Missouri Professional Auctioneers Association FFA bid-calling contest on Aug. 13 at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia.
The association’s submitted results list Kuntz as FFA grand champion. Lane Carter of Audrain County R-VI FFA is reserve champion, and Reed Miller of Monroe City FFA is first runner-up.
Janell Susan Roth, the association’s executive director, confirmed those FFA placements Thursday.
Jay Reuterdahl of Macon County R-I FFA is also listed among the FFA top 10 finalists on the association’s awards page.
Finalists qualified at the association’s winter conference in January in Columbia, Roth said. At the fair, contestants sold real items before a live audience. Four judges from Missouri and surrounding states scored professionalism, an interview question, chant and voice, and effective auctioneering, according to the association.
Cody Noel of Curryville is the professional grand champion, the association said. Caleb Marquette of Mexico is reserve champion, and Bill Nance of Sheldon is first runner-up. Roth confirmed those names Thursday.
The association will hold a camp and contest for FFA students at Ozark Fall Farmfest in Springfield on Oct. 2, Roth said. Information is at moauctioneers.org/events.
