An Excello man is charged with a felony and two misdemeanors after the Macon County Sheriff’s Office said he broke a woman’s vehicle window with a rock and kept her from leaving during an Oct. 15 domestic disturbance in Bevier.
Michael R. Siemens, of Excello, was charged Oct. 27 in Macon County Circuit Court in case 26MA-CR00297 with first-degree property damage, a class D felony; third-degree kidnapping, a class A misdemeanor; and fourth-degree domestic assault, a class A misdemeanor, according to the complaint. The prosecutor asked the court to issue an arrest warrant.
Deputy James Ligon wrote in the probable cause statement that he responded to the disturbance at about 5:15 a.m. Oct. 15. He wrote that the woman had locked herself in a vehicle while Siemens yelled that he would knock her out and made other statements implying bodily harm.
Siemens broke a window in the vehicle with a rock, the deputy wrote. The complaint puts the damage at more than $750.
Ligon wrote that Siemens took the woman’s keys and cell phone and blocked in the vehicle so she could not leave. She told the deputy she feared for her safety, according to the statement.
Charges are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
